Different Interpretations Of Human Rights Are The Result Of Different Worldviews

As reported by the public relations of Xorasan Seminary, in the second specialized meeting of “American human rights from the supreme leader’s perspective” that was held on Thursday afternoon in Razavi university of Islamic Sciences, ayatollah Seyed Mesbah Ameli said that studying the source of human rights is the most important thing about this concept, it is the cause of conflict before the legislation of human rights and after it, and it must be studied and analyzed.
He added that two sources, Islamic and secular, can be imagined for human rights, but those who have set it have had a secular point of view.
The manager of Xorasan Seminary declared that like two trees having their own fruits, we cannot expect these two sources of human rights to have the same result of saving people. Ayatollah Ameli mentioned that the source of human rights specifies the identity, goal, approach, direction, path, differences and similarities of different political, economic, philosophical, and cultural schools. He said that western human rights are based on Humanism and utilitarianism, and it has a different path than Islamic and Monotheist human rights.
He said that today, the term of “Human Rights” is only a tool or a motto in the hands of the great Satan and he uses it to reach to his benefits.
Explaining the bases of Islamic human rights, the manager of Xorasan Seminary emphasized on that humans are looking for these bases by their nature and knowing these bases will result in worldwide evolution. He said that Monotheist worldview is the first base of the Islamic human rights and the one, who has such an approach, believes that God is governing the society and the whole world, and it is obvious that he will not grant himself any special prerogative, but he will consider all humans as having the same source, beginning, and creator, and the same.
Ayatollah Ameli said that having different social classes and giving prerogatives to some groups of people is against the Islamic human rights and worldview. He said that in monotheist view, being perfect is achievable through piety and having special rights in any field is forbidden.
He identified the single identity and nature as the second base of the Islamic human rights. He said that differences in the creation of humans are just at the level of signs and symbols, they are not innate, and they are not considered as prerogatives.
The manager of Xorasan Seminary added that the third base of the Islamic human rights is the divine nature and that the human rights based on Monotheist perspective must sound spiritual and humane. Explaining the purposeful creation of humans as another base of the Islamic human rights, Ayatollah Ameli pointed to the verse “و ما خلقت الجن و الانس الا لیعبدون”** and said that there are three interpretations for this verse and all three of them can be considered as a chain of goals for the creation. The interpretations are worshiping God and getting close to him and reaching him, accomplishing a correct knowledge of oneself, the world, and God, and perfection.
He affirmed that the realization and the objectification of the Islamic human rights and even what is mentioned in the declaration of human rights is based on the existence of a correct and deep understanding of the society, the world, and humans.
Pointing to the fact that the result of the Islamic human rights is seeing humans the same and avoiding the greediness, the manager of Xorasan Seminary said that such a human not only is not greedy, but also will not let others be like that, and he will be seeking the high values and the Islamic ethics.
Ayatollah Ameli believes that the stabilization, endurance, and durability of human rights depend on the growth of such people. He said that throughout history, those who have resisted against the divine stand have had exactly the opposite view, and it can be said that the growth of negative characteristics of evils such as pharaoh is the most important reason of overrunning human rights throughout the history.
Emphasizing on the fact that serious and deep measures must be taken on human rights, he said that gatherings and meetings elaborating the concepts and answering the questions are effective, but we must have broader actions in this area.
The manager of Xorasan Seminary pointed to the words of the supreme leader of the revolution on the necessity of the seminaries answering the needs in four levels of inside the seminaries, the society, the regime, and international ones. He said that it is interesting that human rights are present in all these areas, and if seminary students do not analyze the related problems carefully, they will not be able to perceive the differences among concepts such as generosity, freedom, and just in two Islamic and western worldviews and know their completely different natures. Ayatollah Ameli said that human rights are among the current, important, and ongoing problems that seminaries must answer and it must be replaced with less priorities in academic, educational and research forms.
He declared that Americans do not consider many humans as humans who deserve some rights and even call their own friends and helps as milky cows. It is worth mentioning that the second specialized meeting of “American human rights from the supreme leader’s perspective” was held with the cooperation of Xorasan Seminary, preservation and publishing office of ayatollah Khamenei, the Islamic republic youth organization of human rights, and Razavi university of Islamic Sciences.
