Self-Edification Is Necessary For Students' Moral Development

Among the students of Ahl al-Bayt (as) seminary of Sabzevar, the Friday prayer leader of this city said: the first step in self-edification and moral development is awareness of and attention to the pains.
As reported by the public relations of Xorasan Seminary, this week’s session of the series of ethical teachings of Ahl al-Bayt (as) seminary of Sabzevar was held hosting Hojjatul Islam wal Muslimeen Mr. Qolam Reza Moqise.
In this session, Hojjatul Islam wal Muslimeen Mr. Moqise called the first step of the edification of the soul and moral development being awake and paying attention to the pains. He said: unlike physical pain which informs a man about a problem, moral and spiritual pain is not accompanied with pain.
As pointing to jealousy, arrogance, and self-conceit as moral disease, he stated: attention is required to identify these problems, and unless there is attention and awareness, a man will not try to find the solution.
Emphasizing on students being more careful with ethical duties, he pointed to Seyed Abdol Karim Lahiji’s modesty, one of the top students of Sheix Ansari, and said: modesty is an index of moral development, with paying attention to which one can avoid moral diseases.
